The foal adaptive period refers to how the foal adapts from the intrauterine environment (inside the mare), to the extra uterine environment - the outside world. The aim of the presentation is to support knowledge of what the norm should look like in a healthy newborn foal so you can identify what maybe abnormal and, therefore, seek timely intervention from your veterinary surgeon.
