This modular course takes you through several areas relating to Thoroughbred pedigrees, starting with the historical context through to the evolvement of the modern Thoroughbred.

Written by industry expert Joe Grimwade, you will learn all about the selection methods and considerations needed by breeders, hear from experts on how to interpret a sales catalogue and much more.

Foundation

Do you work within a stud or other equine environment? This comprehensive course is a fundamental for anyone working with horses in the breeding industry.

A narrated, video-based course takes you through four modules that will give you an excellent grounding in equine biosecurity essentials.

You'll learn about Infection, Detection, Prevention and Protection, and their relevance to good biosecurity practice, plus you will also receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

Intermediate

This course builds on the principles covered in our Paddock Management Foundation course and takes a look at the specific roles of paddocks within a stud farm, paddock suitability, performance in relation to soil and how to improve and maintain pasture in preparation for quality grazing.

Foundation

This course will provide you with a foundation in understanding the role paddocks play on a stud farm, plus there is also an explanation of key fundamentals including nutrition (in terms of grasses and herbage), safety, security and the different types of paddocks. Also included is the importance of associated routine paddock maintenance.
