Can we prevent colic after foaling?

About this Talk

This short presentation provides a brief report on an ongoing study that is being undertaken by the University of Liverpool on why broodmares are at an increased risk of gastrointestinal colic compared with the general horse population, and how that might be reduced.  The research group define the parameters required in the recruitment of study horses, and how breeders could confidentially nominate broodmares for inclusion onto the study.

Equine vet who qualified in 2016, undertook an internship at Newmarket Equine Hospital for two years and a season in central Kentucky USA.  Currently training for a specialism in Equine Medicine at the University of Liverpool.
