Dr Kanichi Kusano, DVM PhD, is the Director at the Japanese Racing Association’s London office, where he has been based since 2022. He is a specialist equine vet, dealing with racing-related issues such as anti-doping, horse welfare and control of infectious disease and clinical care. He is also a member of the Advisory Council on Equine Prohibited Substances and Practices for the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities. Part of Dr Kusano’s role at the JRA is to recruit runners to the Japan Cup. Dr Kusano's presentation is followed by a question-and-answer session with Lydia Hislop and TBA Chairman Philip Newton.
